Subclinical disease may be going undetected on your operation. It’s not a pleasant thought, especially when you consider the productivity that could be lost due to poor feed conversion, greater variation in bird performance and lost bird potential. The risk is even higher if it became secondary clinical disease.

But recent research suggests this silent threat is a real concern. Across 6,500 samples from broilers and turkeys, 43.6% had subclinical levels of avian pathogenic E. coli (APEC) and Clostridium perfringens (CP).1

Why even discuss a threat that’s so far “under the radar”? Because finding a solution is not as hopeless as it may sound. In fact, there are ways to get a customized solution to combat your flock’s specific health challenges.

Knowing the microbial makeup can make all the difference.

When it comes to addressing these subclinical disease threats, what you don’t know could be hurting you—and your flock’s productivity. So, how can you successfully combat something that’s difficult to even identify?

Step one is knowing the unique microbial makeup of your production environment, your flock and litter, often referred to as the Microbial Terroir™. Since no two are identical, the Microbial Terroir provides essential intelligence that can lead to the best possible solution. Conversely, without this deep knowledge of what’s at play on your operation, it’s impossible to tailor a recommendation that addresses all those silent threats effectively.

ARM & HAMMER™ can assess the positive and negative components of your Microbial Terroir to identify any harmful pathogens that may be slowing down poultry productivity.

From knowledge to power.

Armed with comprehensive insights into your Microbial Terroir, it’s time to respond to the unique challenges you’re facing.

CERTILLUS™ is a customized solution developed to fit your specific needs, using proprietary strains of Bacillus to make the uncertain certain. By selecting the ideal Bacillus strains, you can help combat the individual challenges in your Microbial Terroir impacting your birds’ performance.

The proof is in the performance.

Not all Bacillus strains are created equal, however. In a four-month feed conversion study2 versus another Bacillus product, using CERTILLUS resulted in improved feed conversion, broiler weight gain and lower instances of APEC and CP infection.

Again, the key to improved productivity is not only knowing what you’re up against, but also how best to combat the silent threats unique to your operation. Understanding your environment, flock and litter helps to identify that ideal solution.
